Lacking experience and knowledge, yet driven by a desire to experience the outdoors
and catch fish, I decided to take Navi's Beginning Fly Fishing class.
I have learned that there is some truth to the old adage "you can't teach old dogs
new tricks". However, I have learned and benefited from patient and supportive
teachers and now believe that old adage is only partially true.
Learning, life and fishing at times are very similar, by being in the right place
at the right time, while doing the right thing you will very often find yourself
being successful or at least learning. I have learned much from Mike
and others about fishing and feel confident enough that I can catch fish anywhere,
if they are in the water.
The true lessen
and memories of Fly Fishing with Mike are not always obtained by simply reaching
your goal of catching the "Big One" or lots of fish. Rather it will
be measured by meeting other people with similar interests (or the sickness),
helping others to be successful, making new friendships and sharing your heart
and rod with another. |
